Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $700,000)

This project will serve the 14,595-acre Red Cliff reservation and surrounding communities in Bayfield County, Wisconsin. Under this project, the Tribe will hire one Case Investigator, one Data Entry staff, and an Anishinaabe Cultural Consultant. Project services will include providing information about services for young victims impacted by addiction; referral to specialized, evidence-based, trauma-informed victim services for children and youth; personal advocacy on behalf of a victim; referral to medical services; emotional support on-scene of a substance overdose or drug-related offense where a young victim is present with continued support; referral and support for Cultural healing, and other mental health treatment options.
