This program will support the development, implementation, and dissemination of a train-the-trainer trauma-informed, hope-centered framework to assist law enforcement officers with addressing trauma and adversity in order to repair and rebuild relationships within the community.

This work is intended to result in increased trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve, enhancing law enforcement officers’ ability to effectively engage with community members, as well as increasing the likelihood that the community will assist in investigations to make communities safer and hold offenders accountable, and make it more likely that crime victims will report their victimizations to the police, reducing the likelihood of re-victimization.

OVC anticipates making up to four awards under Purpose Area 1 of up to $750,000 each and one award under Purpose Area 2 of up to $1 million. OVC expects to make awards for a 36-month period of performance, to begin on October 1, 2021.
