Components of a Successful Replication

Level of Interest

The first component requires a recognition of, and desire to, address abuse committed against persons with disabilities in a more effective and efficient way.

Successful replication of BPI requires team members to—

  • Identify which individuals, organizations, and agencies work with or interact with persons with disabilities.
  • Determine their roles, responsibilities, and jurisdictions.
  • Identify those already collaborating as well as those working independently, either intentionally or unintentionally.
  • Target and meet with potential partners to understand their current efforts and similarities and differences, determine their levels of interest, and establish an environment that fosters trust and open communication.
