Introduction
Crime victim assistance programs often rely on public funding, either
as their principal source of financial support or to fund significant
projects. Although federal grant programs are key funding components for
crime victim assistance, state-level support can play an equal role. This
overview describes the major state legislative approaches to creating
sources of funding for crime victim assistance.
