OVC is seeking applications to establish or expand sexual assault examination programs, including sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) programs and sexual assault forensic examiner (SAFE) programs that focus on improving the provision of sexual assault care using a community-based approach, such as through a campus community, nonprofit, community-based, and/or tribe-affiliated victim services provider.

Anyone can be a victim of sexual violence, regardless of age, race, or gender. Likewise, assailants can be anyone: strangers, friends, or family members.

Crimes involving sexual violence often lead to long-term negative consequences for the victim. In addition to any physical injuries from the assault, victims often suffer from emotional and psychological trauma that sexual violence introduces into their lives.

OVC is seeking applications to establish and/or expand Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) programs that will offer medical forensic care, advocacy, and other victim services to sexual assault survivors on college campuses.
