HALOS Accomplishments

In 2012, hundreds of children in Charleston County, South Carolina, benefited from the donation of tangible goods provided through HALOS partnerships.

HALOS also assisted 164 relatives caring for 329 children in kinship care; these families also benefited from support group meetings, home visits, and respite events. In addition, in 2013, HALOS made it possible for 77 children to attend summer camp.

HALOS has earned the respect and support of the Charleston County child protection system, the families served by the system, and benefactors in all sectors of the community. In the words of a veteran caseworker,

I have been blessed to be part of this program. I have spent a great deal of my own money helping families. Now I can turn to a group of dedicated people that want nothing more than to help. It is one of the greatest things that I have experienced as a worker.
