The 2nd Annual National Missing Persons Day: Greater San Antonio United 2025 is a free, community-focused event designed to bring families, law enforcement, partnering organizations, and the media together to raise awareness for missing persons and unsolved crimes.
Highlights include:
- Welcome Address by Dr. Martinez: Dr. Martinez, with the American Red Cross, will open the event with a warm welcome and introduction, highlighting the significance of hosting this outreach event and activities at the American Red Cross facility. His support as our host underscores the value of community collaboration.
- Opening and Closing Prayers by Chaplain Ginger Treanor: Chaplain Ginger Treanor will offer heartfelt prayers at the start and conclusion of the event, providing reflection and comfort to all attendees.
- Presentation by Lori Wittmeyer: Lori Wittmeyer, Case Intake Manager at Search & Support San Antonio and Prevention Education team member with Ransomed Life, will deliver an insightful presentation addressing the critical connections between runaway youth, human trafficking, and the hidden dangers of social media and gaming platforms.
- Complementary Insights by Bobby Green: Special Investigator Bobby Green will enhance Lori’s presentation by highlighting the Do’s and Don’ts when discovering critical materials on your minor's or missing and suspected trafficked family member's devices, offering actionable guidance to attendees.
- Special Guest Presentation by Aaron Benzick: Aaron Benzick, an active homicide detective with over 20 years of experience, will introduce his nonprofit and innovative database platform, solvethecase.org, a resource designed to assist families and agencies in advancing investigations and solving cases.
- Partner Recognition Awards: Two of our appreciated partners will be recognized with awards for their invaluable contributions to supporting families and their important missions to provide critical resources.
- Families will have the opportunity to honor their loved ones by dedicating a table or chair to share their stories and raise awareness for their cases.
- Crafting activities will be available for attendees to create tributes to their loved ones (supplies provided while available).
- Certified therapy dogs and spiritual counselors will provide comfort and support throughout the event. This event encourages collaboration and connection among families, organizations, and law enforcement while fostering hope and remembrance.
Who Should Attend: Families of missing persons, victims of unsolved crimes, survivors of human trafficking, and runaways. Law enforcement, organizations with shared missions, and media professionals are also encouraged to attend.
