Law enforcement-based victim advocates and their partners play an important role in responding to the needs of people who have experienced female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C). This training will provide introductory knowledge of FGM/C and how to serve people who have experienced FGM/C. 

Attendees will: 

  • gain an introductory understanding of FGM/C,
  • learn about the role of law enforcement-based victim advocates and their partners in addressing FGM/C, and
  • learn about available resources.

  • Community-based victim advocates
  • Law enforcement personnel
  • Other sworn and professional staff working within a law enforcement setting
