National Crime Victims' Rights Week: Lessons from the New Orleans Family Justice Center on Adjusting Services to Our New Reality

The presenters will discuss the rapid response of the New Orleans Family Justice Center to COVID-19, which included moving to remote service provision and adjusting services to meet the emergency needs of survivors. Megan Staab and Smith Carly will describe the creative ways the New Orleans Family Justice Center maintained a supportive and robust virtual community for their clients. Attendees will obtain an example of responsive crisis management, including examples relevant to practitioners across the service spectrum, from direct service to agency management and community advocacy.
