Nichole Norris (mother of murdered daughter, Meshay Melendez and grandmother of Layla Stewart) along with Joseph Thuney (father of murdered daughter Brittany Thuney) are inviting the community and those impacted by murder, to join in solidarity and remembrance on Monday, September 25, 2023, for a candlelight vigil to remember those we have lost due to violence and murder.

During The National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims, advocates and community members commemorate murder victims and surviving family members. The day also honors the work of organizations that provide services, including support, advocacy, and counseling for families, individuals and communities coping with homicide-related deaths. This event is hosted and sponsored by the National Women's Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation.
