Substance Abuse, Sex Trafficking and HIV Risk among Males (SAVA Syndemic)

The facilitator will present research findings on the nexus between sex trafficking of males, substance abuse and HIV risk, followed by strategic recommendations to act on the research presented. The event concludes with a Q&A session.

This educational event is brought to the community by—

• Bob's House of Hope, a provider of equine and animal assisted therapy and safe housing for young adult male survivors of sex trafficking,
• Miami-based Kristi House's Bridges to Futures program for girls who have experienced sex trafficking, 
• giantslayer, which provides training and technical assistance to prevent violence against boys and men, and
• Prism North Texas, South Central AIDS Education and Training Center, which provides tailored education, clinical case consultations, and technical assistance to healthcare professionals and healthcare organizations.
