Miami-Dade County, Florida’s Community Action and Human Services Department, Violence Prevention and Intervention Division (VPID), will offer housing placement assistance, related legal counsel, and employability services to adults and minor sex and labor victims of human trafficking in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The VPID will collaborate with Career Source South Florida (CSSF) and CABA Pro Bono Project, Inc. (CABA) to implement the project activities. The VPID will provide transitional housing assistance to human trafficking victims for up to six months and work with landlords in the community to ensure victims are placed in safe and stable housing. CABA Pro Bono Project, Inc. will provide free legal services and court representation to victims with the intent of helping them locate and secure housing and with limited immigration matters that affect the victims’ ability to secure housing. CSSF will provide employability services using workforce innovation resources that promote economic self-sufficiency. VPID will also provide follow-Up support services during the grant cycle of 36 months. The targeted population will also receive additional advocacy services at Coordinated Victims Assistance Center (CVAC), the county’s one-stop center for victims featuring 39 on-site partners.
