Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $800,000)

Heartland Human Care Services (HHCS)  will provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered housing assistance through two main components: 2 emergency housing units and 11 transitional housing units for foreign-born and domestic survivors of human trafficking. These services will be provided in Cook, Will, DuPage, and Lake Counties in Illinois. HHCS is a subcontracted agency administering the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) National Human Trafficking Victim Assistance Program with USCRI (Washington, DC) —providing and coordinating comprehensive case management services to foreign national survivors of human trafficking.
