Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $4,000,000)
This project will support victims services, including Child Advocacy Centers, mental health services for children exposed to voilence and trauma, legal assistance, and community-based victim service projects throughtout the State of Alaska. Due to a decrease in grant funding, such as the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding, direct service providers are facing drastic cuts, which inevitably will reduce criticial services. CDVSA will utilize funds from the OVC Congressional Byrne Grant to sub-grant to provider for programmatic and operational support to ensure victims contine to be served during this time of unstable and uncertain funding amounts. Sub-recipient of these funds will be CDVSA sub-grantees in both rural and urban areas across the State of Alaska.
