Denver District Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Unit Project

The Denver District Attorney’s Office (DDAO) requests funding to enhance the structure of the Human Trafficking Unit through the addition of critical staff that will expand its capabilities to investigate and prosecute sex and labor trafficking cases in the City and County of Denver.

This expansion includes a full-time paralegal and an on-call digital/financial forensic analyst, as well as the equipment necessary to support these positions which consists of high-powered laptops and analytic software. The analyst and paralegal will assist the HTU with the investigation and prosecution of sex and labor trafficking, filling much needs gaps in staffing. This expansion will greatly increase the ability of this office to build more robust human trafficking cases resulting in successful prosecutions.
