Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $200,000)

The CPVS Initiative will provide direct services to 150 residents each year who are victims of IPV by providing information and referral, personal advocacy and accompaniment, emotional support, safety planning, emergency shelter and housing, and justice system navigation and support.  Grant funds will be used to support a full-time and a part-time Community Safety Coordinator (CSC) who will work with victims and collaborating agencies and organizations to comprehensively address their needs and to ensure that residents are not re-victimized as they retain or secure safe, stable housing that promotes healing.  This program will utilize a trauma-informed care approach and work in tandem with other programs and services provided by the PHA’s Wellness Resource Center program. The Wellness Resource Center provides a wide range of services, including behavioral health care, access to addiction services and peer support, health equity outreach workers, and specialized services for victims of crime. The WRC also provides case management and referrals to PHA and external empowerment programs in supportive services, workforce development, income supports, and adult education.
