Kenaitze Indian Tribe (Kenaitze) is a Federally recognized tribal government located in the central Kenai Peninsula Borough (KPB) in the state of Alaska. With this $375,000 request to the FY23 DOJ Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) Transforming America’s Response to Elder Abuse: Enhanced Multidisciplinary Teams (E-MDTs) for Older Victims of Abuse and Financial Exploitation Purpose Area 1 funding solicitation, Kenaitze’s Tyotkas (Dena’ina word meaning “Auntie’s Place”) Elders Services department, in collaboration with internal and community partners, will work toward the following Goal: Improve case outcomes for older and vulnerable adults by minimizing additional trauma, restoring safety and security to victims, and holding more offenders accountable for crimes of abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.
