OVC FY 2023 Jabara-Heyer NO HATE Act State-Run Hate Crime Reporting Hotlines

The funding in this grant will provide the opportunity for the Nevada Office of the Attorney General (OAG) to implement a Hate Crimes Hotline.  This hotline can be integrated into existing OAG infrastructure and provide services in alignment with the Constituent Services Unit (CSU).  This will aid to bridge the gap between hate crime victims and any victim services that may be available to them. 

There are multiple activities that have been described in the narrative that must be accomplished for this hotline to be successful.  They include but are not limited to the following: develop policies and procedures for the hotline, develop hate crime specific training for staff, hire and train new staff, integrate the hotline into existing CSU services, promote the hotline, and develop reports and monitor the success of the hotline.
