Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $949,999)
Through this award, the Asian Association of Utah (AAU) will offer the Enhanced Labor Trafficking Services (ELTS) program to enhance the scope of services for Utah’s labor trafficking survivors. AAU provides linguistically and culturally responsive services that work to remove barriers and increase access for survivors and has over thirty-two collaborative multidisciplinary partners participating in its comprehensive services model. These partnerships allow for the program to have a reach across the state and make the project sustainable and effective. AAU’s goals for this program are: 1) provide case management and wraparound services to labor trafficking victims to achieve increased safety, independence, self-sufficiency, and well-being; 2) identify victims of labor trafficking through use of coordinated training, public awareness, and outreach efforts and connect them to appropriate services; and 3) determine if the project is meeting stated goals and objectives through data collection and participation in evaluation activities. These goals will be met through direct activities including case management, wraparound services, and the facilitation of educational groups to support community connection. Additionally, outreach through AAU’s drop-in center, awareness materials, creating and maintaining partnerships, providing, and attending training, and program evaluation will assist in identifying survivors and ensuring best practices to meet survivor needs.
