Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $950,000)

Through this award, the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (CAST) will enhance the scope of services offered to victims of human trafficking in Los Angeles County, California, including victims in underserved areas of the county such as South Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, Long Beach, and the South Bay, in order to help them achieve their goals including increased independence, self-sufficiency, and feelings of safety and well-being. CAST will provide comprehensive, individualized services to victims, including emergency response and intake, immediate needs support, case management, and long-term legal services. Additionally, CAST will enhance collaboration with and training for local partners to ensure victims are properly identified and referred and will provide victims with referrals to other essential services.
