Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $200,000)

The goal of this project is to provide advocacy services and crisis intervention, and address barriers to recovery and service use such as language barriers, lack of nutrition and access to food, lack of transportation or funds for fuel, dependency on abusers for housing, and general cost of living increases. The Centers Against Abuse & Sexual Assault service area covers rural populations in 19 counties of Iowa including underserved populations like survivors who are survivors who are undocumented, Latinx community with limited English proficiency, African American, and LGBTQ.
