With this funding, LOUIS D BROWN PEACE INSTITUTE will serve as a center of healing, teaching, and learning for families and communities impacted by murder, trauma, grief, and loss in the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury, and Mattapan, where violence is most concentrated in the City of Boston, Massachusetts. The target population is persons of color most affected by violence and poverty, and services to be provided include food, clothing, housing, shelter, utilities, transportation, childcare, and vocational programs.
