Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $150,000)
The goal of the grant is to plan and implement an innovative program to improve the ability of American Indian and Alaska Native communities to provide direct services to victims of violent crimes such as child abuse, sexual assault, homicide, elder abuse, Driving While Intoxicated, and gang violence. The program will offer services which include counseling, referrals, emergency services, court accompaniment, and assistance obtaining victim compensation.
