Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $450,000)

The purpose of this award, one of several projects under the Services for Trafficking Victims Discretionary Grant Program, is to allow the Tides Center/ Utah Health & Human Rights Project to expand victim service programs for persons who have been identified by federal law enforcement as victims of a severe form of trafficking during the pre-certification period. The Tides Center/ Utah Health & Human Rights Project will provide comprehensive services to trafficking victims in the state of Utah; build effective community service networks to respond to victims' needs; and provide training to increase awareness among criminal justice entities, social service providers, and the public of the rights and needs of trafficking victims over a three year period. ca/ncf
