Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $400,000)
The purpose of this award, one of several projects funded under the Services for Victims of Human Trafficking Grant Program, is to allow the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking to provide or dispatch legal services for victims of human trafficking as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000, as amended. The Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking will ensure the provision of direct legal services for foreign national and U.S. citizen victims of trafficking identified or living in the urban area of Los Angeles, and its contiguous communities and will provide training and technical support to build capacity for legal service providers in the targeted region over a two year project period. ca/ncf
