Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2014, $227,291)
This project aims to help Native American victims of violent crimes occurring on Arizona tribal lands and those who serve them navigate and advocate within the complex tribal, state, and federal jurisdictional maze of laws and services. This mobile application (mobile app) will be designed as a one-stop portal to information and education on victim/family safety and self-care and to the workings of the various jurisdictions, justice systems, and services from which Native victims and their families may seek support. This project seeks to develop and launch a culturally relevant mobile app, incorporating symbolic graphic interfaces and concepts, for the target audience that users can interact with anonymously. The mobile app is envisioned to have four major sections in the user interface including victims rights; victim safety and self-care; justice system navigation, and resources. The applicant will partner with ShuffleLabs, the mobile app developer, to create and launch this app.
