Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2014, $400,000)
The Vision 21: Using Technology to Expand National and International Access to Victim Services initiative supports projects using technology to interact directly with crime victims, providing support for improved assistance to victims, including information, referrals and online and hotline services.
The American Overseas Domestic Violence Center (AODVC) will expand their services to American victims of domestic violence and stalking related to domestic violence abroad, including those living or traveling overseas. This will also include services to victims on military bases, cruise ships, study abroad programs, etc. AODVC provides assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through a toll-free hotline and website with live chat and a crisis email feature that connects victims to advocates and case managers that provide case management and referral for crisis intervention, counseling, lethality assessment and safety planning, legal assistance, danger to safety relocation, housing, and other emergency assistance.
