The Vison 21 Multidisciplinary Response to Families and Communities in Complex Homicide Cases Program will: 1) identify and document promising victim-centered and trauma-informed multidisciplinary responses and evidence-based practices that are effective in responding to families on complex homicide cases; and 2) disseminate resources and lessons learned from this project to the victim services field and allied professionals. The Medical University of South Carolina, National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center has been selected as one of several demonstration sites for this initiative and will focus activities on developing and institutionalizing a multi-disciplinary approach to responding to cases involving intra-familial homicide. The grantee will also work closely with a local evaluator and a technical assistance provider who will provide innovative assistance and support to the demonstration sites to help them achieve project goals over a 3-year project period.
