Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2017, $1,359,620)
The purpose of this award, funded under the Improving Outcomes for Child and Youth Victims of Human Trafficking: A Jurisdiction-Wide Approach Program, is to develop, enhance, and coordinate programs and activities geared toward improving outcomes for child and youth victims of sex and labor trafficking, in part by improving jurisdiction-wide coordination and multidisciplinary collaboration. The University of Alabama has recognized the states greatest barriers to identifying and assisting child and youth victims of sex and labor trafficking and/or to investigating and prosecuting these cases, and has developed a statewide-wide strategy to address these challenges.
