The National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA) and the National Association of Crime Victim Compensation Boards (NACVCB) propose conducting four 2-1/2 day joint training conferences 2019 - 2021 for the managers, staff and board members of the 56 jurisdictions that administer VOCA victim assistance grants and the 54 state crime victim compensation programs. A joint conference is proposed for 2019 and 2021 and separate training conferences in 2020. One training conference in 2020 will focus primarily on VOCA victim assistance topics/issues while the other one will focus on state crime victim compensation topics/issues. The purpose of the project will be to provide participants with current information essential to complying with their responsibilities as managers of VOCA victim assistance and/or crime victim compensation grants, up-to-date Federal grant requirements, current public policy and funding issues, new developments in the provision of victim services, including outreach to underserved and other targeted victim populations and with opportunities for the exchange information and views regarding management and programmatic policies, procedures and strategies among colleagues.
