Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2018, $343,557)
The Building State Technology Capacity program better serves victims by allowing SAAs to leverage technology in the focus areas listed above. As society turns more and more to innovative technology, victim service providers and VOCA state administering agencies must be prepared to respond to this rapid evolution by developing organizational capacity to not only support their organization's data collection needs, but also to support victims of crime in new and varied ways that protect the victims' rights, and enhance their safety and confidentiality.
The New Jersey Victims of Crime Compensation Office proposed use for the cooperative agreement would be to completely update its claims processing system to meet the growing needs of the victim community. The project will redesign the current systems structure and user interface as well as update its outdated workflow to increase staff efficiency. The project will be implemented through the following phases: requirements elicitation, design meetings and system design documentation, development, system testing, deployment, user documentation and training.
