Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2018, $598,835)

The overall goal of the FY 2018 Enhancing Access to Services Program is to break down the barriers that victims face in accessing services. OVC has selected ten organizations for funding under this program to provide direct services to crime victims in linguistically specific communities, such as crime victims in limited English proficient (LEP), Deaf, and hard-of-hearing communities. This award to the Asian Pacific Institute on Gender-Based Violence will support the delivery of training and individualized technical assistance to the ten direct service programs and other victim service providers and allied professionals. The grantee will help the direct service sites expand their capacity to address the language access and service needs of all crime victims and will develop tools and resources suitable for online publication and dissemination to the larger victim services field.
