Advanced South Dakota Victim Assistance Academy

The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) State Victim Assistance Academy (SVAA) Initiative addresses the demand for more coordinated and multidisciplinary approaches to training victim service providers and allied professionals. Its aim is to provide statewide victim assistance academies that deliver a blend of education and skills based training for professionals that routinely deal with crime victims.

This award provides the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence & Sexual Assault (the Network) with $48,000 in funding for South Dakota's SVAA, which is in its final year of OVC funding. The Network will utilize these funds to support steering
committee efforts to offer an advanced training academy.
