Under the FY 2018 Integrated Services for Minor Victims of Trafficking program, all grantees are required to serve all minor victims (boys and girls under age 18) of all forms of human trafficking (sex and labor). The grantee will work with OVC Program Managers and Training and Technical Assistance Providers to ensure all victims are served. The YWCA of Western Massachusetts will provide minor victims of human trafficking and their families with an array of comprehensive services through the La VIDA (Valor, Independencia, Dignidad, y Autonomía) project. Serving Hampden County in western Massachusetts, the VIDA project will identify minor victims of human trafficking, provide them wraparound case management so they get the services they need to meet their complex needs, and support a coordinated community response to help minor victims of sex and labor trafficking. The project will provide trauma-informed and child-centered services based on self-determination and creating a safe space so victims can heal and work through the impact of their victimization.
