Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2019, $756,203)

The goal of the FY 2019 Direct Services to Support Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to enhance the quality and quantity of services available to victims of human trafficking, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this program supports direct services to victims of sex trafficking and labor trafficking, as well as for efforts to increase the capacity of communities to respond to human trafficking through the development of interagency partnerships, professional training, and public awareness activities over a three-year project period.

Selah Freedom, Inc., will use this award to enhance and increase services available to human trafficking victims in the targeted geographic region in which the Tampa Bay Human Trafficking Task Force operates. This goal will be achieved through comprehensive victim services, collaborations with law enforcement and community organizations, law enforcement and community training, and data collection. Selah Freedom will be coordinating activities with the Tampa Bay Human Trafficking Task Force in partnership with the St. Petersburg Police Department. The activities of the project will take place in the following eight counties: Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Manatee, Hernando, and Hardee.
