Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $1,499,583)

The purpose of this award, funded under the OVC FY 2020 Advancing the Use of Technology to Assist Victims of Crime solicitation, is to support organizations that demonstrate innovative strategies to create, expand, or enhance the use of technology initiatives to improve response, services, and access for victims of crime.

The Research Triangle Institute will use this award to improve the support offered to victims of interpersonal violence through the expansion and enhancement of a proven innovative technology that enables multidisciplinary collaboration among healthcare providers, law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim service providers. The proposed Interpersonal Violence Report and Referral (IVRR) platform seeks to modernize and standardize the mandatory reporting system for healthcare providers. The secure web-based platform efficiently combines streamlined and digitized reporting forms with fatality risk assessments and victim consent to be contacted into a consolidated electronic record that is seamlessly shared with police and social services in a standardized manner.
