Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $400,000)

This program will provide funding for shelter and transitional housing and other assistance to victims of domestic violence and their companion animals, which under this program means pets, service animals, emotional support animals, and horses. YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee operates a 65-bed emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence, and under this project will support the operation of a 10-kennel pet shelter for companion animals located on-site at YWCA’s emergency shelter. The geographic area to be served is predominately Nashville and Davidson County, TN.
