Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $497,709)
DOJ and OVC have long recognized the critical need to support American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) victims of crime. Over time, OVC has conducted a number of tribal consultations and listening sessions to gather input from our AI/AN partners regarding the Crime Victims Fund tribal victim services set-aside. Based on the information gathered, OVC will allocate the FY 2020 funding by an interim discretionary administrative formula. Under this program, the Squaxin Island Tribe requested funding to continue to enhance services provided through the Elder Specialist and Services Coordinator over a three year project period. The funding will be used to increase crime victim access to wrap around services and wellness resources to address impacts of trauma, and 2.) sustain a comprehensive elder crime victim assistance program that provides a coordinated and collaborative multidisciplinary response to victims of elder abuse and their families.
