Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $500,000)
The goal of the FY 2020 Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to support housing assistance for victims of all forms of human trafficking throughout the United States, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this solicitation supports programs that provide 6 to 24 months of transitional housing with support services to victims of human trafficking who are in need of housing as a result of human trafficking. Funding will be provided over a three-year project period. Under this project, Wellspring Living will offer several different types of housing: state-licensed emergency housing for youth survivors in a residential program; 2 shelters for transitional housing for adult women, 12-month apartment voucher program for adult male, female or transgender victims who need longer term support, and access to a tiny home community where victims can live independently at low cost. Goals of this project are to: 1) increase access of victims to stable housing that leads to a sense of safety in the aftermath of victimization, 2) strengthen a safety net for victims by ensuring appropriate identification and referrals, 3) conduct training and public awareness activities and 4) collect and understand program data. Support services will be provided including counseling, education, career readiness training, and paid apprenticeships offered within the context of intensive case management. Additional services including childcare and transportation support are also available. These services are trauma-informed, victim-centered and strength based. CA/NCF
