The purpose of this program is to develop, expand, or strengthen victim service programs for victims of human trafficking, to include enhancing the capacity of law enforcement and other stakeholders to identify victims and provide justice for those victims through the investigation and prosecution of their traffickers. This award made to Westchester County District Attorney's Office is funded under FY 2020 Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking which is designed to allow the Task Force to add a Survivor Leader to its six-person group of cochairs comprised of diverse social service providers and law enforcement organizations. Cochairs perform the following tasks1) Provide oversight and coordination of the Task Force; 2) Direct human trafficking referrals and complaints to the appropriate investigative agency where referrals are warranted; 3) Provide comprehensive services to victims of human trafficking and/or refer cases to other service provider members of the Task Force when appropriate; 4) Assist with training, education, and outreach to law enforcement and victim service agencies; 5) Attend co-chair and quarterly meetings of the Task Force CA/NCF.
