Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $675,000)

The purpose of this program is to develop, expand, or strengthen victim service programs for victims of human trafficking, to include enhancing the capacity of law enforcement and other stakeholders to identify victims and provide justice for those victims through the investigation and prosecution of their traffickers. This award made to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office is funded under FY 2020 Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking.The Cuyahoga Regional Human Trafficking Task Force was established in 2017 to combat Human Trafficking in Cuyahoga County (Greater Cleveland), Ohio. With the addition of a crime strategy analyst, a prosecutor, investigator, and a multidisciplinary team coordinator and advocate specifically housed at Canopy Child Advocacy Center they plan to expand upon the Cuyahoga County Human Trafficking Task Force’s effectiveness. Canopy Child Advocacy Center, with Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy Center (DVCAC) serving as the fiscal agent, the Cuyahoga Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, and Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office have partnered to work together to help victims of human trafficking.
