Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $525,352)

The purpose of this program is to develop, expand, or strengthen victim service programs for victims of human trafficking, to include enhancing the capacity of law enforcement and other stakeholders to identify victims and provide justice for those victims through the investigation and prosecution of their traffickers. This award made to Transitions Family Violence Services is funded under FY 2020 Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking which is designed to expand geographically the work of the Task Force to include funding for Mathews County, located on the Middle Peninsula, and the Counties of Accomack and Northampton on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Also, to increase labor trafficking investigations, and continue with the adult and minor trafficking victim multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) that will strengthen service coordination, address service gaps, and collate and promote best practices in service provision to adult and minor trafficking victims.
