Dawne Lomangino-DiMauro has been an active member of the human trafficking movement in New Jersey for the past 12 years. She is co-chair of the Anti-Trafficking Taskforce of All Counties (ATTAC), a member of the New Jersey State Human Trafficking Task Force, and chair of the New Jersey Commission on Human Trafficking. Additionally, Ms. Lomangino-DiMauro continues her work at The Women’s Center of Atlantic County, where she has been employed since 2000, specializing in the treatment of interpersonal trauma as the Director of Statewide Human Trafficking Services.
Ms. Lomangino-DiMauro is a licensed clinical social worker and lecturer at Rutgers University, where she shares her experience and knowledge with the next generation of social workers. Ms. Lomangino-DiMauro collaborated on groundbreaking legislation that gave New Jersey a top score in the fight against human trafficking, the New Jersey Prevention, Protection, and Treatment Act, and she developed protocol and training curricula for professionals and communities. Her work can be directly linked to changes in New Jersey law that seek to better serve individuals under the age of 18 who are identified as victims in the commercial sex trade.
She developed and implemented the first state-funded victim service program, DreamCatcher, which is devoted solely to raising awareness and networking services for identified victims. The program is now a model for other states. Ms. Lomangino-DiMauro was instrumental in developing a partnership with the New Jersey Department of Children and Families that supports mandatory human trafficking training for all staff.
Ms. Lomangino-DiMauro holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice and B.S. in Social Work from Stockton University, and an M.S.W. and post-graduate certificate in Play Therapy from Monmouth University.
