This is a graphic novel that tells the stories of five youth and each of their experiences as a victim or witness in a criminal case.
Intended as an aid in guiding and supporting youth ages 13-18 in preparing for involvement in criminal court proceedings, these stories illustrate the common occurrences of youth involved in criminal cases. The characters interact with victim advocates, prosecutors, and counselors. Two of the stories also involve the characters’ experiences in preparing for and testifying in court. In each story, the character develops new skills that assist her/him in managing emotional responses in the context of involvement in case-processing procedures. The medium for presenting the stories consists of colored drawings of contexts and people, with conversational content attributed to each person in a drawing.
