This is the summary of a report on data from the U.S. Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Statistics’ (BJS‘) National Crime Victimization Survey regarding violent victimizations of persons with disabilities for the period 2009-2015.
Abstract
This report presents 2009-2015 National Crime Victimization Survey estimates of nonfatal violent crime (rape or sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and simple assault) against persons age 12 or older with disabilities. It includes crime characteristics, such as victim-offender relationship, time of crime, reporting to police, and use of victim services agencies.
