The 2008 Resource Guide offers communities a package of extensive tools to engage in observing this year’s National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) to be held April 13-19, 2008. The theme for 2008 is “Justice for Victims Justice for All.” The theme affirms decades of effort to ensure rights, protections, and services for victims of crime. The contents of the Resource Guide, supported by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime, contains the essentials in the planning of NCVRW which include: (1) letters from both the National Center for Victims of Crime and the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime; (2) a Resource Guide Overview; (3) maximizing Communication and Awareness (helping communities plan activities, visual displays, and public statements to increase awareness); (3) Camera-Ready Artwork (formats on CD-ROM and artwork contents); (4) Working with the Media; (5) Landmarks in Victims’ Rights and Services; (6) Statistical Overviews and Resources; (7) CD-ROM consisting of all camera-ready artwork provided in black-and-white and in color, and in three electronic formats; and (8) Theme DVD--a 5-minute DVD with the NCVRW theme, along with a 30 second television public service announcement. An At-A-Glance offers a quick one-page reference guide to the 2008 NCVRW with important dates, theme, resource guide contents, quick planning tips, and special announcements, such as an awards ceremony and the NCVRW candlelight observance.
