Vision 21 is the first comprehensive examination of the crime victims field in 15 years. Vision 21 projects engage a broad spectrum of service providers, advocates, criminal justice professionals, allied practitioners, and policymakers in addressing crime victim issues. The current Vision 21 fact sheet addresses actions that focus on linking systems of care for children and youth under Vision 21's fourth recommendation, which is to "build and institutionalize capacity through an infusion of technology, training, and innovation." Three actions are recommended. First, ensure that every young person who experiences victimization receives timely and meaningful responses and services. Second, proactively identify young victims and work with their families and caregivers to provide for the various needs that stem from their victimization. Third, ensure that these young victims and their families are set on a path to healing and achieving their full potential in life.
