On Friday, July 1, 2022, Attorney General Merrick B. Garland announced the release of the Department of Justice: FYs 2022–2026 Strategic Plan.
The goals of the Strategic Plan are:
- Uphold the Rule of Law
- Keep Our Country Safe
- Protect Civil Rights
- Ensure Economic Opportunity and Fairness for All
- Administer Just Court and Correctional Systems
In his message, Attorney General Garland states,
“this strategic plan provides a comprehensive approach to guide the activities of every Justice Department component and ensure that we continue to fulfill our responsibilities to the American people.”
OVC is committed to upholding the goals of this strategic plan. A key indicator of success for Goal 2 will be to increase “services to traditionally underserved victim populations through Victims of Crime Act (VOCA)-funded organizations and anti-human trafficking programs.”
OVC will continue working with state, local, and Tribal partners to ensure that all victims of crime, particularly those in traditionally underserved communities, have access to and increased options for victim services to help them find the justice and healing they seek.
