Youth Collaboratory is an organization that works to prevent and reduce the victimization of Black girls vulnerable to sex trafficking.
With support from OVC, Youth Collaboratory is creating a three-part video series on emerging trends and promising practices for prevention and early intervention for Black girls who are at risk of, or are experiencing, sex trafficking.
Youth Collaboratory recently released the second video in this series, The Intersection of Juvenile Justice and the Sex Trafficking of Black Girls. This video explains how "adultification" and "sexualization" contribute to Black girls' involvement with the juvenile justice system and its impact on their mental health, ways to combat the criminalization of Black girls, and tools to address this issue.
Also watch the first series video, Combating and Preventing Sex Trafficking of Black Girls: Promising Practices to learn about promising practices to combat and prevent the sex trafficking of Black girls.
