On behalf of the Senior Policy Operating Group (SPOG), of which the U.S. Department of Justice is a member, the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, U.S. Department of State, released a request for information (RFI) on Conducting Anti-Trafficking Work Using a Racial Equity Lens.
The Biden-Harris Administration recently released a National Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking that recognizes an effective anti-trafficking response must embed racial justice and equity into its policies and programs. In response, the SPOG is developing an implementation plan to integrate racial equity throughout its anti-trafficking efforts with the aims of releasing it later this year.
The implementation plan will support the SPOG’s and other agencies’ work to carry out the Executive Order on Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government.
Responses to the RFI will inform the SPOG’s implementation plan to integrate racial equity throughout its anti-trafficking efforts.
The deadline to respond is 5:00 p.m., eastern time on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Responses can be sent via email to [email protected].
